AIG is looking for a Senior Claims Adjuster to join our Commercial Claims team in this role you will take ownership of complex claims within Financial Lines delivering technical excellence and acting as a trusted problem solver for our clients and partners.

Your impact and responsibilities

Your primary focus is to drive a fair responsive and highly professional claims handling process. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Complex Claims Handling: Managing and resolving high-exposure Commercial and Financial Lines claims utilizing your deep expertise in insurance law and litigation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintaining professional dialogue and negotiations with brokers clients external lawyers and internal experts to ensure seamless claims resolution.
  • Risk & Fraud Mitigation: Proactively identifying reviewing and handling suspect or fraudulent claims on a consistent basis.
  • Cross-Functional Insights: Partnering with Underwriting to provide feedback from claims experiences directly contributing to product improvement and risk assessment.
  • Team Support & Mentorship: Acting as a subject matter expert deputizing for the Team Manager in their absence and monitoring market and industry practices to elevate the teams capabilities.

What youll need to succeed

This role requires a profound understanding of legal frameworks and a proactive approach to stakeholder management.

  • A Masters degree in Law (. or .).
  • Experience working as a lawyer at a law firm as an in-house legal counsel or as a Claims Adjuster - preferably within insurance law tort law litigation Financial Lines or General Liability.
  • Specialist knowledge of Commercial Claims or technical claims topics is considered a distinct advantage.
  • You see yourself as being structured analytical and capable of translating complex legal matters into actionable solutions.
  • A collaborative mindset with a natural interest in navigating a global organization with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in Danish and English (written and spoken).

Meet the Team

You will be based in our Copenhagen office reporting directly to the Head of Casualty FL and PSR Claims. We operate as a unified Nordic team where we rely on shared expertise cross-border collaboration and flat hierarchies.
