Job Summary
DTU invites applications for Senior Advisor positionwithin DTUs Division for Climate and Energy Policy at DTU Management Department of Technology Management and Economics. The division is an interdisciplinary research unit that carries out research related to sustainable behavior climate and energy economics. Weoffer an excellent team-based research environment with international staff postdocs and PhD students.
We seek a Senior Advisor in Spatial Economics to deepen and expand the incorporation of spatial analysis in our research supporting high-impact interdisciplinary research and policy engagement.
The candidate will join the Sustainable Behaviour section at DTU Management. The section comprises a strong group of economists who use natural experiments induced experiments (real-life or in the lab) and survey experiments to analyse individual behaviour and preferences for sustainable actions and policies.
Responsibilities and qualifications
The candidate must have in-depth knowledge about and expert experience with conducting spatial economics analysis using Danish register data. This includes but is not limited to the development and coding of fine-scale neighbourhoods relevant for causal identification of behavioural effects.
Likewise the candidate must have a proven track record of spatial causal identification research and published papers in high-ranked spatial economics journals. The candidate must also have experience conducting analysis and communicating results in the context of providing policy advice to ministries think tanks foundations etc.
Moreover the candidate will play a key role in the divisions and sections work on spatial and register data modelling and will also serve as a register data anchor for the other researchers in the Climate and Energy Policy.
The successful candidate will join a dedicated and collaborative research environment and be expected to take responsibility for key tasks within the divisions activities. The role includes contributing actively to the Departments research and policy advisory work. The candidate is expected to lead the development of high-quality scientific publications based on this work and to play a central role in securing external research funding. For the appointment as Senior Advisor documented experience in conducting advanced analyses and effectively communicating results to support policy advice for ministries think tanks foundations or similar stakeholders is required.
As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as a researcher or postdoc.

DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages and in time are expected to master both.
Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
Starting date is 1 September 2026 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
