Job Summary

Are you an experienced server infrastructure professional who wants to help secure the reliable operation of business-critical systems Would you like to apply your technical expertise in an operational technology environment supporting the future of renewable energy

As our new SCADA Server Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for engineering maintaining and continuously improving the virtual and physical server infrastructure underpinning Vattenfalls business-critical renewable-energy Fleet-Level SCADA and related Fleet-Level Operational Technology applications in Esbjerg.

You will help ensure that our server platforms provide a stable secure scalable and high-performing foundation for business-critical OT environments. Your work will cover areas such as system availability backup and restore disaster recovery monitoring and infrastructure lifecycle management.

A key part of your role will be applying structured engineering security and lifecycle-management principles to keep the platforms reliable supportable and compliant with Vattenfall standards and operational requirements. You will work closely with internal colleagues external stakeholders and suppliers while supporting our BA Wind Operational Control Centre and Maritime Control Centre in Esbjerg in their daily operations.

Qualifications :

Your role

As a SCADA Server Infrastructure Engineer you will take ownership of server infrastructure throughout its lifecycle from initial analysis and engineering through implementation operation improvement and eventual replacement or decommissioning.

You will combine hands-on technical work with structured planning documentation and collaboration. Your focus will be on maintaining secure and reliable server environments and proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen performance availability and operational resilience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the daily operations of the BA Wind Operational Control Centre and Maritime Control Centre in Esbjerg.
  • Engineering deploying maintaining and continuously improving virtual and physical Fleet-Level OT server environments.
  • Performing infrastructure lifecycle assessments and developing maintenance upgrade replacement and decommissioning roadmaps.
  • Planning and executing server replacements migrations upgrades and decommissioning activities.
  • Designing validating and maintaining backup restore high-availability and failover solutions.
  • Monitoring server performance health capacity and availability and proactively identifying improvement needs.
  • Analysing server incidents performing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective preventive and proactive improvement actions.
  • Planning tracking and documenting assigned tasks technical changes procedures results and operational knowledge.
  • Contributing to purchasing activities technical solution validation and collaboration with external suppliers.
  • Supporting internal and external audit activities.
  • Participating in the teams on-call rotation providing specialist OT infrastructure support for business-critical services outside normal working hours.

Your profile

You hold a degree in IT Infrastructure Computer Engineering or a related discipline or have built equivalent expertise through relevant professional experience. You have a strong technical foundation in server infrastructure and thrive when taking ownership of solutions from analysis and design through to implementation operation and continuous improvement. You are equally comfortable working independently and collaborating with colleagues suppliers and stakeholders across the organisation. To succeed in this role you must have excellent written and spoken English skills. You should also be able to communicate professionally in Danish and be comfortable understanding Danish in both spoken and written form. As the Operational Control Centre supports multiple locations a valid drivers licence and access to a car are required. The role may also be subject to security clearance and candidates must be able to meet the applicable screening requirements.

You bring knowledge and experience in:

  • Windows and Linux system administration.
  • Virtualisation virtual desktop secure remote-access and Privileged Access Management (PAM) technologies such as VMware Omnissa Horizon Citrix BeyondTrust and Remote Desktop Services (RDS) together with multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions.
  • Enterprise server hardware such as Dell HPE or IBM.
  • Device-management software for thin-client environments.
  • Backup disaster recovery patch management and restore validation for example using Veeam.
  • Active Directory DNS DHCP certificates and domain-services integration within Windows Server environments.
  • Maintaining upgrading and managing server infrastructure across its lifecycle.
  • Preparing technical documentation and maintaining documentation of server architectures configurations and procedures.
  • Supporting technical purchasing and solution-validation activities.
  • Security and logging solutions such as Trend Micro Splunk or Syslog.
  • Infrastructure monitoring tools such as SolarWinds OpenManage or OneView.
  • Basic OT network concepts.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation or scripting for example PowerShell is advantageous.
