Job Summary

The Faculty of Engineering and Science Department of Energy Section for Power Electronics System Integration and Materials

At AAU Energy a position as Research Assistant in Ga2O3 semiconductor manufacturing and materials is open for appointment from August 15th 2026 or soon hereafter. The duration of the position is 2 years.

Your work tasks
The position is offered in relation to the research program Power Electronic Packaging Materials and Emerging Applications and the Research Assistant will be positioned to the section for Power Electronics System Integration and Materials.

Research areas will be within applied semiconductors and materials. The specific tasks involve manufacturing Ga2O3 diode and transistor semiconductor devices using the Minimal Fab from Yokogawa material and electrical property characterization. Semiconductor device manufacturing using Minimal Fab from Yokogawa and operation of clean room equipment. Experience with test equipment and electrical characterization of manufactured devices for break - down voltage and current-voltage characterization.

Your competencies
The applicant must have a relevant professional and/or educational background within material physics at master degree level with solid state physics courses including materials and semiconductors. Experience with manufacturing semiconductors both Ga2O3 diodes and transistors using the Minimal Fab are required.
Experience with material characterization and device characterization of manufactured devices including break - down voltage tests and current-voltage characterization.

AAU Energy is a research department at Aalborg University dedicated to the development of clean and sustainable energy systems. The department is located in both Aalborg and Esbjerg and this position is based at the Aalborg campus.

Appointment as a research assistant requires academic qualifications at masters degree level.

Salary and terms of employment

There is a mutual probationary period of 3 months for the position.
