At DTU Entrepreneurship you will contribute to building a new strategic foresight and roadmapping capability for critical technologies at a leading European technical university. Working at the intersection of innovation research industrial strategy and technology ecosystems you will help develop new methods for technology roadmapping and strategic decision-making in areas critical to European competitiveness resilience and technological sovereignty.

The initial focus of the project is advanced semiconductor technologies and chip ecosystems one of the most strategically important technology domains globally.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be to strengthen DTUs competences in strategic foresight technology roadmapping and ecosystem development for critical technologies with an initial focus on two pilot cases within chips and semiconductor technologies.

You will be employed at DTU Entrepreneurship and work closely with colleagues in other DTU departments with complementary technological expertise. Together you will bridge technological and socio-economic perspectives on the development and scaling of critical technologies.

Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Develop and adapt methods and tools for strategic foresight and technology roadmapping tailored to DTUs research and innovation context
  • Co-lead pilot cases together with another postdoc and researchers from participating departments including (i) analyzetechnological market and ecosystem developments within pilot cases to inform strategic decision-making within the two pilot cases and (ii) contribute to design and facilitation of workshops and roadmap processes involving researchers companies public authorities investors and international partners
  • Conduct research on development trajectories and ecosystem building within the pilot cases
  • Communicate findings to both internal and external stakeholders through roadmaps presentations and publications in leading international journals and conferences

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • A PhD in a relevant field such as innovation and entrepreneurship studies science and technology studies technology management or a related discipline with a demonstrated interest in strategic foresight technology roadmapping or research and innovation policy
  • Experience with methods for analyzingtechnology development and innovation ecosystems Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines and institutional boundaries
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Experience with one or more of the following would be an advantage:

  • Technology roadmapping and foresight methodologies
  • Qualitative and mixed methods research
  • Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation
  • Knowledge of or strong interest in semiconductor/chip technologies

As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation ofProfessional addition supplements can be negotiated in accordance with DTUs salary structure for scientific staff: period of employment is 2 date is 1 January 2027 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
