Postdoc in Nickel-Coated Nanofibers for Alkaline Water Electrolysis DTU Energy
Kgs. Lyngby - Denmark
Job Summary
This position offers the opportunity to develop next-generation electrode materials for alkaline water electrolysis. At DTU Energys Section for Electrochemical Materials you will develop and characterize nickel-coated nanofiber materials as advanced electrocatalysts working closely with Professor Jens Oluf Jensen and national and international collaborators.
Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be to develop and optimise nickel-coated nanofiber materials as electrocatalysts and electrode architectures for alkaline water electrolysis establishing structureperformance relationships to guide durable high-performance low-cost electrode design.
As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
Your primary tasks will be to:
- Fabricate and nickel-coat nanofiber electrode materials
- Characterise structural morphological and electrochemical properties
- Evaluate catalytic activity durability and efficiency under alkaline electrolysis conditions
- Integrate materials into full-cell testing and prototype development
- Disseminate results through publications and conference presentations
You are expected to have:
- A PhD in materials science chemistry physics chemical engineering or related field
- Experience with nanomaterials synthesis and/or metal coating techniques
- Experience with electrochemical and structural characterisation (e.g. SEM TEM XRD)
- Excellent written and spoken English
Experience with alkaline water electrolysis electrospinning electrodeposition or full-cell testing is advantageous but not required.
