Join Thermo Fisher Scientifics Semiconductor Business Unit in Brno Czech Republic where we develop world-class electron microscopy and sample preparation systems that enable next-generation semiconductor innovation.

Our team designs and delivers advanced dual-beam FIB-SEM platforms used across semiconductor manufacturing and failure analysis environments from expert-driven workflows to highly automated labs operating at the leading edge of process technology.

As a Sr. Solutions Architect you will play a critical leadership role in shaping the next generation of semiconductor sample prep and analysis systems. You will serve as the technical leader for a portfolio of advanced FIB-SEM products driving system architecture technology strategy and multidisciplinary product development from concept through commercialization.

This is a highly visible role requiring deep systems thinking technical leadership and close collaboration across R&D product management operations and business leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the system architecture and technical direction for advanced semiconductor-focused FIB-SEM platforms.
  • Translate customer needs market requirements and technology trends into system requirements product architectures and scalable platform designs.
  • Define and drive product roadmaps aligned with business strategy technology evolution and customer value creation.
  • Identify critical performance differentiators and emerging technologies to maintain industry-leading system capability.
  • Own architectural integrity across key system performance metrics including resolution accuracy stability throughput automation and reliability.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical electrical software controls optics and physics domains from a technical perspective.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Program Managers to define product scope technical priorities risk mitigation strategies and execution plans.
  • Drive system-level tradeoff analysis balancing performance cost manufacturability serviceability and development timelines.
  • Promote platform scalability technology reuse and architectural standardization across product lines while reducing obsolescence risks.
  • Establish effective technical review processes engineering rigor and clear success criteria throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with global business operations manufacturing and R&D stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery and long-term portfolio growth.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly collaborative and technically accomplished systems leader with a passion for solving complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced high-tech environment.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on technical depth strong leadership capabilities and a pragmatic approach to product development and execution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Systems Engineering Physics Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Software Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in complex high-tech R&D environments preferably within semiconductor equipment electron microscopy precision instrumentation or related industries.
  • Proven experience leading system architecture and multidisciplinary product development for sophisticated hardware/software systems.
  • Demonstrated success driving complex engineering programs from concept through product realization.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles architecture methodologies and product lifecycle development processes.
  • Excellent communication stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Expertise in structured design methodologies (DFMEA DOE RCA)
  • Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools
  • Experience working in regulated environments (UL IEC agency certifications)
  • Local language and fluency in English required
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree or higher in Systems Engineering Physics Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Software Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with electron microscopy FIB-SEM systems charged particle optics vacuum systems precision mechatronics or semiconductor process technologies.
  • Experience developing automated or high-throughput semiconductor inspection metrology or analytical systems.
  • Familiarity with systems integration controls architecture and advanced software-enabled instrumentation platforms.
