Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer (Azure / DevOps) to design build automate and operate modern cloud-based data platforms. The role combines hands-on Azure platform engineering Infrastructure as Code Kubernetes CI/CD security and platform operations with a strong focus on scalable and reliable data platform environments.

Responsibilities
- Implement and configure cloud platform capabilities for new business use cases.
- Build and operate modern data platform services primarily in Microsoft Azure.
- Ensure platform solutions follow established architecture security and operational standards.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand technical requirements and platform dependencies.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or Bicep.
- Automate platform provisioning configuration deployment and operational processes.
- Build and improve self-service platform capabilities for internal consumers.
- Manage and operate cloud-native data services ensuring availability reliability scalability and performance.
- Administer Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Implement monitoring logging alerting and observability solutions.
- Troubleshoot platform incidents perform root-cause analysis and contribute to service improvements.
- Support modernization initiatives and migration of legacy workloads to cloud-native technologies.
- Evaluate and introduce new platform technologies where appropriate.
- Apply enterprise security standards IAM configurations and secure-by-default principles.
- Ensure platform deployments comply with relevant security and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to optimize platform utilization operational efficiency and technical debt.
Requirements
- Multiple years of experience as an Azure Platform Engineer Cloud Engineer Data Platform Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure particularly:
- Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS)
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Strong understanding of modern data platform and Lakehouse architectures data integration patterns and data modeling concepts.
- Hands-on experience implementing cloud-native solutions in Microsoft Azure; experience with GCP is an advantage.
- Strong experience with Terraform and/or Bicep.
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking and security including:
- Virtual Networks (VNets)
- Private Endpoints
- Managed Identities
- Key Vault
- RBAC
- Network Security Groups
- Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and automation.
- Experience implementing monitoring logging alerting and observability solutions.
- Proven experience building and operating scalable highly available and reliable cloud platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
- Good understanding of the conceptual architecture behind Databricks and modern Lakehouse environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft Purview including data governance cataloging metadata management and data lineage.
- Experience with streaming and real-time data technologies such as Azure Event Hubs Kafka or Spark Structured Streaming.
- Experience with GCP platform services.
- Experience with Agentic AI orchestration platforms and AI platform engineering concepts.
- Knowledge of Azure AI Services and enterprise AI platform architectures.
- Experience with platform engineering and self-service infrastructure concepts.
- Relevant Azure certifications such as:
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- Azure Data Engineer Associate
