Senior Financial Controller Shared IT Service Costing & Project Controlling (fmd)

Your area of work:

As Senior IT Financial Controller Service Costing & Project Controlling you will shape the Financial Backbone of a Global IT Organization by owning the end-to-end intercompany recharging process for Shared IT services deliver clear unit cost transparency across the full service portfolio provide the cost data and methodology required for structured benchmarking against market addition you will take full ownership of project controlling activities for selected key investment initiatives.

The Chief of Staff/ IT strategy department supports the leadership team in financial steering across the CIO/COO organization. It is the interface between the Division management the various business areas within the Division the corporate central functions and the various market business segments of Deutsche Börse Group. Being the main interface to the central functions of the group the Chief of Staff/ IT strategy department is responsible for effective and efficient interface management and the development of well-structured solutions as decision proposals.

Your responsibilities:

Intercompany Recharging Governance:

• Own and steer the end-to-end intercompany recharging process for Shared IT services in line with the Shared IT Service Catalogue coordinating with the IT Service Hub Group Recharge service owners and legal entities.
• Ensure timely high-quality delivery of all recharge calculations; conduct rigorous QA and sanity checks on cost developments and methodologies.
• Coordinate the distribution of costs across business segments ensuring full alignment between the cost allocation methodology and the legal entity charging framework.
• Lead standardization and automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and increase process reliability; share expertise and best practices with fellow controllers.

Service Unit Costing:

• Build and maintain a central data repository covering all service-related costs volume drivers and unit costs; ensure the service-based cost object structure is correctly reflected in SAP.
• Deliver clear unit cost transparency per service to internal stakeholders and senior management.
• Drive budget and forecast management for the full service portfolio.

Analysis Optimization & Benchmarking:

• Proactively identify cost optimization potentials and run financial simulations for legal entity onboarding and M&A scenarios modelling marginal cost impacts and budget effects.
• Partner with our Benchmarking expert to provide the cost data and methodology required for structured benchmarking of Shared IT services against market rates and peer groups.

Project Controlling:

• Ensure financial control and value delivery for key/ selected investment initiatives covering demand collection assumption challenge and consolidation of project financials.
• Own business case setup and maintenance proactively flagging budget shortfalls and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive the full project controlling process end to end including month-end closing capitalization process and reporting.

Your profile:

• Degree in Finance Business Administration Accounting or a related field.
• 10 years of professional experience in financial controlling with a strong track record in IT controlling shared services or a technology-intensive corporate environment.
• Deep understanding of intercompany / transfer pricing mechanisms and internal recharging frameworks.
• Proven experience with project controlling business case management and investment tracking including capitalization processes.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills
• Proven experience with SAP CO/FI and SAP Analysis for MS Office; experience with BI or reporting tools (e.g. Power BI SAP Analytics Cloud) is a plus.
• Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships across locations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills fluent in English

Would be an advantage:

• Exposure to automation tooling (e.g. Power Automate Python scripting RPA) applied to finance or controlling processes.
• Familiarity with IT service benchmarking frameworks or cost-per-unit methodologies for technology services.
