Senior Data Engineer (fm)

Help us build and operate a cloud-based data platform for cybersecurity projects in an international security environment.

Do you have experience with data platforms ETL pipelines databases and Python The international Cyber Defense Center of Deutsche Telekom is looking for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to design develop and maintain data-processing capabilities for a cloud-based production platform serving multiple cybersecurity use cases.
In this role you will work with diverse internal and external data sources design and implement data pipelines and help deliver reliable datasets and services for security operations reporting and other cybersecurity-related projects.

Responsibilities

• Design develop and maintain standardized ETL pipelines for a cloud-based cybersecurity platform
• Work with various data sources and transform raw data into reliable usable datasets
• Define and enforce standards for data structure and validation across pipelines
• Analyze visualize and interpret complex data to support different use cases
• Investigate and research data sources to identify patterns anomalies and opportunities for improvement
• Develop and maintain microservices and analytical tools used in the platform
• Collaborate with platform engineers developers and cybersecurity teams

Job Requirements

• Strong experience working with data including parsing transforming validating and analyzing datasets
• Solid understanding of data processing ETL or workflow automation systems; experience with Apache NiFi Apache Airflow or similar tools is a plus
• Experience with Python for scripting automation and data processing
• Hands-on experience with databases and data stores such as PostgreSQL MySQL OpenSearch DuckDB ClickHouse Cassandra BigQuery Redis or Valkey and MongoDB
• Practical experience working with REST APIs including implementation and integration based on OpenAPI specifications
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools and workflows for example Jupyter and Pandas
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Good understanding of Linux-based environments
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Czech or German is a plus

Nice to have experience

• Cloud environments; Google Cloud Platform is a plus
• Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka RabbitMQ or Google Cloud Pub/Sub
• Observability stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Data visualization tools such as Power BI or Apache Superset
• Experience in cybersecurity security operations reporting or other security-related data environments
