Core Responsibilities

As a Packing Engineer within our Platform Technology team you will bridge the gap between creative R&D designs and high-performing production machinery. You will:

  • Drive Standardization & Improvement: Support the standardization of new packing equipment and spearhead the continuous improvement of our current systems.

  • Act as the project technical support collaborating closely with project team on the development design and construction of specialized equipment.

  • Design & Test: Develop and test new equipment and packaging setups in strict compliance with current LEGO safety standards and guidelines.

  • Deliver Excellence: Ensure all new equipment meets rigid performance criteria balancing safe operation high quality stability satisfactory output and optimal cost.

Our R&D Engineering organization plays a crucial role in the LEGO Groups success by ensuring the design development and optimization of cutting-edge equipment and systems. It focuses on standardizing new equipment and improving existing ones which directly enhances operational efficiency and product quality on the shop floor. By collaborating with world-class suppliers and integrating new technologies the department drives innovation and maintains strict compliance with industry standards supporting the organizations global strategic goals.

Do you have what it takes

For this role we prefer a student with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (such as Mechatronics Automation Robotics or Electronics).

Our must-haves for the role:

  • Technical Design Mastery: Strong proficiency in mechanical design principles and a deep knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

  • CAD Software Expertise: Hands-on experience with CAD software for advanced design and modeling (specifically NX and AutoCAD).

  • Strong analytical skills for performing calculations and process simulations.

Nice-to-haves that will help you stand out:

  • Familiarity with project management principles alongside a solid understanding of industry standards (ISO EHS Ergonomic standards) and basic project budgeting.

  • Communication & Organization: Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Experience working in a multicultural environment or with advanced manufacturing technologies.

  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma or Prince2).

  • Language: Advanced fluent English (C1/C2 level) for day-to-day international collaboration.
