Due to our continuous expansion we are looking for a:
Mechanical Engineer for Gas Turbine Package
The mechanical engineer for Gas Turbine Packageis accountable for all mechanical and process engineering aspects ofGas Turbine Package equipment.
In particular he/she:
is responsible for the mechanical design of Gas TurbinePackage(including auxiliary systems such as lubrication oil system gas supply system instruments air system filter structure starting motor and gearbox pumps and valves);
co-operate with mechanical designers electrical engineers and project managers to engineer a complete package for power generation;
oversee the work of the draftsman and work in a team within the department group to prepare gas turbine drawings(plant layouts/mechanical interface drawings/foundation loads drawings process flow diagrams and P&IDs)
cooperatewith Supply Chain department suppliers workshop and customers (when required) during project execution to providesupport on any technical issue
create bill of material (BOM) for production and generate purchaseorders
Issue purchase specification for project specific components (Oil cooler enclosure fans gas line components Fire detection and extinguishing system filter structure ancillaryetc)
supports the salesorganizationduring negotiation phase;
performs technical analysis of the signed contractsto identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks;
assists the Project Managerduring project execution
manages the project document list for theGas Turbinepackagescope
collects supplier documentation and issues the customer documentation for theGas Turbine packagescope
interfaces with local Notified Bodies(i.e.TüV)
supports the field activities with technical consultation during installation and commissioning of the plant
interacts with PG Project Managers PG Project Engineers Supply Chain external suppliers our final customers company internal experts and site installation and commissioning people
Inadditionthe mechanicalengineer for Gas Turbinepackageshall be capableto:
work as a lead engineer(i.e. leadcomplex projects) and coordinateother project engineering disciplines
explore 3rdparty engineering contractors
write technical specifications to subcontract detailed engineering
validate offers andnegotiate with3rdparty engineering contractors
follow up the detailed engineering executed by 3rd party engineering contractors
Requirements:
Education in mechanical and/or process engineering
5 to8years experience ideallyPower Generation projects execution with focus on Gas Turbine either with OEM or EPC;
Expertise in mechanical and structural analysis thermodynamics fluid-dynamics
Good knowledge of the engineering instruments used in the field of thermal power generation engineering (P&IDs thermodynamic cycles heat and mass balances preparationetc.)
General knowledge of the control principle of a Gas Turbine package
Participation in HAZOP studies and technical risk analysis
Multidisciplinary approach keeping on schedule the activities of the various disciplines
Fluency in English Italian language is a benefit.Germanor another language like Spanish and French will be a plus
Able to work at ease in multi-cultural and interdisciplinaryenvironment
Strong sense of responsibility flexibility as well as good interpersonal skills. Self-starter operates with minimal instruction
Strong organizationaland communication skills (written and verbal)
Travel time: 20%
The following skills shall be considered as a plus:
Knowledge of Windchill
2D/3DDrafting capabilities (Autocadand CREO/SolidWorks)
Knowledge ofPDM(Product Data Management)and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
Knowledge ofAmerican and European Norms related toGas Turbine Package
Knowledge of EU Directives andbasic ofCE marking requirements for Machinery Directives ATEX PED;
Knowledge ofBusiness Compliance
Site experience (with reference to installation of steel structures plant componentsinstrumentationpiping cablingcommissioning activities execution of performance tests inpower plants );
Previous experience in theexecutionof thermal power generation plants preferably combined cycle and cogeneration power plants.
Preparation of technical specifications (HRSGs gas and air compressors gas and steam reduction stations steam turbines cooling towers chillers )

This position requires a 5-days in the office schedule.

Base Minimum Pay:
Kč1162644.00Please note that salary is only one component of the total compensation and benefit package available at Caterpillar.
