Kubernetes Engineer

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Docker images and Helm charts for application deployment
• Ensure integration with third-party tools and providers including:
  • HashiCorp Vault
  • Bitnami SealedSecrets
  • Cert-manager and trust-manager
  • Multus
• Design and implement CI/CD pipeline automation using Jenkins:
  • Application and documentation builds
  • Lab/environment deployments
  • Automated regression testing
• Support Kubernetes-based application deployments and lifecycle management
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve automation deployment efficiency and system reliability

Job Requirements

• Strong functional knowledge of Linux (RHEL or equivalent)
• Proficiency in Bash scripting
• Experience with Python 3
• Solid understanding of Git version control
• Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts including:
  • Controller types and their usage
  • Pod lifecycle and health checks (probes)
  • Service types and networking behavior
  • Persistent volumes and claims especially in StatefulSets
• Working knowledge (or willingness to quickly learn) Helm 3:
  • Chart structure and subcharts
  • Template customization and templating functions
  • Deployment lifecycle (install upgrade hooks etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Knowledge of:
  • OpenSearch / Elasticsearch
  • Apache Kafka
  • MariaDB
  • Keycloak
