Position overview:

This role is accountable for delivering on-site high-touch HR services in support of people strategy responsible for building people management capability within stakeholder group and responsible for driving consistency and efficiency in operational delivery. The role works with plant management team to develop local and deploy global/regional HR strategy as well as support with the standardization and harmonization implementation.

Act as an internal consultant for HR leadership business unit heads and key organization stakeholders regarding policies and HR compliance issues including performance management disciplinary processes HR inquiries and general employment law; provides policy guidance to top management in areas relating to equal employment affirmative action and global data privacy initiatives in the corporation and the communities in which its facilities are located. HR Manager develops and executes company-wide employment practices policies and programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensures plant leaders model company values uphold policies effectively manage teams and drive a culture of accountability
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to plant leaders offering proactive guidance on complex HR and employee issues
  • Leads local communication strategy to team feedback mechanisms and recognition for team and KPI performance; drives Belonging Inclusivity & Diversity culture and practices
  • Owns HR Service Delivery Issues in the Plant - bridges on escalation/systemic delivery issues
  • Tracks and analyses People KPIs and provide workforce insights to help leaders make informed decisions about staffing productivity and engagement
  • Manages local talent acquisition activity as necessary including process steps interviews for some roles and advises on selection of best talent
  • Advises with leaders on onboarding plan and executes local HR onboarding for new employees manages activities and planning for joining Ball and takes active steps to successfully integrate into team
  • Guides supervisors on performance management programs addressing performance issues and recognizing achievements; executes Total Rewards programs advises on compensation matters aligned with company processes/tools and supports annual compensation processes
  • Leverages skills assessment resources to identify gaps and align Global training programs with business needs
  • Leads activities for activating technical and leadership skills and ensure compliance with Global training programs
  • Handles grievances resolve conflicts and fosters a positive workplace culture
  • Owns leadership development focus talent planning and talent review process for location to ensure critical pipeline of talent
  • Aligns staffing levels with production demands and address labor gaps
  • Promotes active participation in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Kaizen) and utilize the recognition system to reinforce desired behaviors
  • Promotes safety programs and wellness initiatives to maintain a healthy work environment
  • Union Relations/Works Counsel - Negotiate and manage collective bargaining agreements and resolve labor disputes; engage with works council as necessary
  • Ensures adherence to labour laws safety regulations and company policies
  • Drives adoption of HR service tools and empower team to seek solutions through company platforms
  • General administrative tasks (various administrative tasks related to local HR Administration and/or daily tasks

What are we looking for

  • Relevant working experience in HR management (minimum 5 years)
  • Effectively create and maintain an atmosphere of collective work
  • Understand complex documentation and instructions communicate effectively as oral and in writing
  • Ability to make decisions and tackle problems
  • Ability to define a problem by analyzing and estimating complex information from different sources
  • Perform assigned tasks on time concentrate and pay attention to the details
  • Make decisions and resolve conflicts
  • Demonstrated experience in matrix organization
  • Broad knowledge of the HR function and its capability to support business objectives
  • Ability to identify process improvements and lead process changes
  • Customer service orientation and ability to work in a matrix and cope with ambiguity
  • Organize both your work and the work of subordinates (if applicable) plan and define priorities in the work
  • Provide positive leadership behaviors and effectively interact with all structural divisions
  • Work with confidential information and ensure its safety
  • Fluent Czech and English language

Work environment: This position requires on-site presence at our plant in Plzeň.

Salary range: CZKgross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidates education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal compensation policies and the current labor market situation. Depending on these factors the actual offer may be above or below the stated range.

Incentive program: This position is eligible for Balls annual incentive program.
