Group Compliance Lead Shape compliance across our markets

We are looking for a Group Compliance Lead to join DEFEND and help strengthen compliance and legal governance across the markets where we operate.

You will work closely with our Managing Director UK Head of Compliance and colleagues across different functions and countries helping turn regulatory requirements into practical solutions that work for the business.

This is a hands-on role with room to grow offering the opportunity to progressively take on broader ownership of the Compliance function.

• Coordinating compliance activities across our operating markets including regulatory requirements reporting policies and governance documentation.
• Monitoring regulatory developments and translating them into practical actions working with different teams to assess their impact and coordinate implementation.
• Supporting regulatory interactions audits and inspections including preparation of documentation evidence and follow-up actions.
• Coordinating legal and contractual matters working with the UK Head of Compliance external legal counsel and relevant internal stakeholders.
• Supporting compliance risk and governance while gradually taking on broader ownership of the Compliance function as your expertise and experience grow.

• Have relevant experience in compliance legal or a combined compliance/legal role within financial services or another regulated environment.
• Have a practical understanding of commercial contracts and legal or compliance risk.
• Can turn complex regulatory or legal requirements into clear pragmatic guidance for the business.
• Are comfortable working across different teams stakeholders and markets with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Speak English at an advanced level (C1); Czech Slovak or another CEE language is an advantage.
