Academic position at the Department of Engineering Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology

Research area: forestry forest engineering and technology renewable energy sources

The department focuses on the issues of technology and techniques in all main sections of forestry particularly in forest regeneration and logging timber transportation now also in tropical and subtropical regions. Other areas of the departments activities include for example energy of machines and buildings including thermography and calculations of energy parameters of buildings. The department also pays attention to ergonomics and workplace safety. Among the latest areas of activity of the department is the field of arboriculture.

• Lecturing conducting exercises and excursions in the fields of forest and wood technology and renewable energy sources
• Collaboration on lectures in both Czech and English
• Testing and verifying students knowledge
• Supervising consulting and reviewing bachelors theses
• Collaborating on scientific-research and creative activities in the field
• Collaborating on the preparation and execution of grant and other projects
• Publishing results in professional and scientific journals and as contributions at conferences and seminars
• Engaging in activities associated with the universitys third role

What do we expect from you

• University degree at least at the masters level focusing on forestry wood science (or a related field) commenced Ph.D. studies in the area are an advantage
• Experience in forestry wood science renewable energy sources for at least 3 years
• Experience in teaching at the university level
• Ability to teach in Czech and English publishing activity in English
• Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office searching in specialized databases)
• Category B driving license (active driver)
• Proactive and responsible approach to work
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Attention to detail reliability and organizational skills
