Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled senior Accountant to join our fast-growing international this critical role you will serve as the local subject matter expert and primary contact for all statutory accounting and VAT-related requirements. You will report directly to the Ops Controller and play a key part in ensuring compliance accuracy and excellence within the Medevio finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely Czech financial reporting.
• Maintain and enforce compliance with local accounting standards regulations and reporting requirements.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports in cooperation with auditors ensuring full adherence to statutory regulations.
• Support the local finance team in cost center management and fixed asset tracking at the manufacturing site.
• Manage and prepare VAT declarations including communication with local tax authorities.
• Support auditors and tax advisors during annual financial statement and tax return preparation.
• Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies on financial audits and reporting obligations.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures aligned with regulatory changes.
• Prepare local statistical reports in cooperation with internal stakeholders across the company.
• Prepare and review internal credit management processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Czech Accounting and Finance (basic IFRS knowledge is an advantage).
• Professional accounting certification is preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting and financial management with an emphasis on local regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of Czech accounting principles regulations and reporting requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong command of English.
