Senior Counsel
Participates in the development and implementation of global Quality programs and initiatives. Conducts Quality audits and surveillance activities across global processes and project delivery operations to ensure compliance with the Worley Management System and ISO 9001 requirements.
Principal Responsibilities:
Inform and provide pragmatic advice and recommendations to the group and employees on their obligations under GDPR and other applicable data protection legislation (e.g. UK Australia America).
Assist in monitoring group companies compliance with GDPR other cyber/data protection legislation and internal data protection policies and procedures.
Lead/participate in awareness-raising activities and employee training on data protection obligations and company standards.
Ensure transparency and permissions are implemented across touchpoints (forms webforms etc.).
Review Privacy Impact Assessments and vendor privacy risk assessments to advise on new projects platforms and services using the TrustArc privacy management platform.
Maintain Records of Processing Activities vendor onboarding contracts and documentation of legal basis for processing personal data using TrustArc.
Process manage and coordinate responses to data subject requests ensuring appropriate verification timely handling stakeholder coordination and documented outcomes.
Support personal data breach response activities including triage risk assessment stakeholder coordination documentation regulatory analysis and support for timely notifications where required.
Work with the Legal team to review contracts and advise on data sharing arrangements and data processing agreements.
Keep informed of data privacy law changes worldwide (e.g. India USA Canada Australia) and assist with local compliance initiatives.
Assist in establishing data protection policies procedures and compliance/enforcement structures.
Contribute to developing compliant approaches to obtaining managing and analyzing data.
Communicate the privacy implications of technology and implementation clearly and concisely.
Make actionable recommendations using knowledge of data protection law statistics business understanding and common sense.
What you will bring
Requirements:
Mandatory
Minimum Education Required: Professional Bachelors degree in Laws
Graduated as a lawyer
At least 3 years of experience in data protection compliance frameworks including GDPR.
Experience providing training on data protection compliance.
Experience maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and clients; exceptional interpersonal skills and professionalism.
Experience working on data protection projects within a multinational business.
Strong organisational communication managerial project management and administrative skills.
Proactive confident team player with a focus on delivery and strong communication.
Asset (preferred / nice-to-have)
Experience as an in-house or consultant counsel delivering a wide-ranging privacy programme within a multinational business.
Working knowledge of software for handling data protection matters (e.g. TrustArc) and experience collaborating with IT Security teams.
CIPP/E CIPM CIPT or other recognized privacy certifications.
Remote/hybrid working arrangement (offered not required).
