Product Security Specialist
Job Summary
- Respond to customer security and privacy inquiries related to Abbott products including questionnaires third-party risk assessments and architecture review requests.
- Support the review of security-related contract language and collaborate with Legal Privacy and Contracting teams to ensure alignment with product capabilities and Abbott requirements.
- Participate in product security risk assessments and security reviews across multiple product lines.
- Monitor and manage product vulnerabilities in alignment with regulatory and industry guidance including FDA post-market cybersecurity recommendations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of technical documentation knowledge bases and security resources for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support governance activities training initiatives and architecture reviews to strengthen product security practices.
- Contribute to security assessments audits and reporting activities.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to evaluate security risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support project planning execution and communication for cybersecurity initiatives.
- Maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders customers contractors and vendors.
- Stay informed on emerging cybersecurity threats technologies and industry best practices impacting medical devices.
- Bachelors degree in Information Security Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in cybersecurity information security product security risk management compliance or related areas.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles security frameworks and risk management methodologies.
- Experience supporting security assessments vulnerability management or security compliance activities.
- Knowledge of security and privacy requirements applicable to healthcare technology environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in cross-functional teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high levels of quality and accountability.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Experience in product security medical device cybersecurity or healthcare technology environments.
- Knowledge of FDA cybersecurity guidance and healthcare industry regulations.
- Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as NIST ISO 27001 IEC 62443 or similar.
- Professional certifications such as Security CISA CISM CRISC CISSP or related credentials.
- Experience participating in third-party risk assessments customer security reviews or compliance audits.
- Experience developing security documentation policies standards or training materials.
- Comfortable using generative AI tools to enhance productivity and problem-solving.
