Our client is a leading U.S. mechanical contractor specializing in commercial HVAC and plumbing projects. They partner with owners developers and general contractors to deliver high-quality mechanical systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects.

As their project pipeline continues to grow they are expanding their preconstruction team and are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing Estimating Consultant to help develop accurate competitive estimates that contribute to successful project delivery.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical/Plumbing Estimating Consultant to support our clients preconstruction team throughout the bidding process for commercial HVAC and plumbing projects.

Working closely with estimators project managers vendors and subcontractors you will assist with quantity take-offs pricing change orders vendor coordination and estimate preparation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with construction drawings mechanical systems and detailed cost analysis while contributing to successful project pursuits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quantity take-offs for commercial HVAC and plumbing systems using construction drawings and project specifications.
  • Review project documentation to identify scope requirements revisions and pricing impacts.
  • Prepare and support accurate estimates for commercial mechanical projects.
  • Develop pricing for change orders and scope modifications.
  • Obtain and compare supplier quotations for equipment and materials.
  • Coordinate subcontractor pricing and incorporate quotations into project estimates.
  • Review and update drawings as required to reflect project scope changes.
  • Maintain organized estimating files and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the preconstruction team to develop accurate and competitive project estimates.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers vendors and subcontractors throughout the estimating process.

Required Hard Skills

  • Experience estimating commercial HVAC and/or plumbing projects.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience performing quantity and material take-offs.
  • Knowledge of change order pricing and cost analysis.
  • Experience obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using estimating software such as Bluebeam AutoCAD Trimble FastPIPE FastDUCT or similar platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines.
