The Role and Responsibility

Taiwan engineering is a dedicated engineering org for Coupang core business inTaiwan. Coupang started the business in Taiwan from 2022 and the business isgrowing fast and we see many opportunities there. The team has end-to-endownership of Taiwan systems and we are working with Taiwan businessstakeholders product team very closely to wow the customers and scale thebusiness. We will record another history of Coupang in Taiwan. We develop and maintain scalable and sustainable platforms to empower our business includingbut not limited to Search Advertising Platform Affiliate Platform Displaytargeting & re-targeting Platform CRM Audience Platform Push MarketingPlatform and other core marketing services for landing tracking personalization& attribution. We leverage big data NoSQL analytics real-time processing andMachine Learning to build mission-critical and highly scalable services that arereliable 24/7.

Affiliate platform is a product that can help publishers monetize their traffic byshowing Coupang products as ads. We build multiple powerful tools to onboardpartners to our affiliate program including a creative creation and sharing tool anAI-based recommendation engine and a flexible commission settlement/paymentsystem.

- Architect design and build scalable systems that will have a direct impact oncustomer acquisition experience conversion and retention

- Develop close relationships with Product and tech team in China and Korea

- Establish and execute short and long-term architectural roadmaps for thebusiness

- Drive continuous improvement to the efficiency and flexibility of the platformand services while keeping high bar for customer trust performance andavailability

Basic Requirements:

- Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalentfields

-10 years of industry experience of increasing responsibility leading a groupof engineers 5 years of experience in software development in largedistributed systems web services and Java capability

-Experience in designing and implementing high-concurrency high-availabilityand high-scalability systems;

- Familiar with distributed system architecture microservice architecture anddesign and message queue cache database etc core backend knowledge

- Growth mindset company-wide perspective. Focus on business problemsolving and data-driven

- Strong competency in delivering results in an environment of rapidly changingrequirements with appropriate trade-offs

- Strong sense of ownership urgency and dive deep

- Experience working closely with global distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior experience in eCommerce industry

- Experience working in tier-0 systems distributed systems

- Fluent English communication

- Experience in advertising systems (such as DSP RTB attribution) and alliancesystems (such as CPS CPA channel management) is a big plus
