Finance & Accounts Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: FINANCE & ACCOUNTS MANAGER

Position Overview We are looking for a resilient hands-on Finance & Accounts Manager to take direct ownership of financial operations accounting governance internal controls and cash flow for our business in Cameroon. Working closely with the General Manager and reporting to executive leadership the manager will enforce operational discipline protect margins and manage working capital across all local distribution import and commercial activities.

Position Type: Full-Time

.

Primary Objective: End-to-end control of accounts daily cash flows statutory filings and ground-level operational finance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

.

Monitor and manage daily cash flow balancing vendor payables operational overhead and incoming receipts.

.

Enforce strict credit control and collection mechanisms across distributors wholesalers and retail clients to minimize aging debt.

.

Optimize cash cycles to support ongoing import shipments local clearance and operational liquidity.

2. Accounting Control & Operational Partnership

.

Direct all day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger entries purchase-to-pay invoicing and bank reconciliations.

.

Partner with the General Manager to track operating expenses manage local procurement costs and prevent inventory or cash leakages.

.

Oversee routine physical stock counts and warehouse audits reconciling physical inventory against system ledgers.

3. Financial Reporting & Compliance

.

Prepare timely accurate monthly management reports (MIS) expense analyses and trial balances for executive review.

.

Ensure full compliance with local statutory requirements including VAT withholding taxes corporate declarations and social security contributions with local consultant.

.

Act as the primary liaison for commercial banks tax consultants and external auditors.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance Accounting or Commerce .

.

Experience & Background:

o Solid verifiable track record managing core finance and accounting operations.

o Prior work experience in Africa (especially within trading wholesale distribution or import/export environments) is a strong added advantage.

o Deep practical understanding of commercial transactions ledger accuracy margin monitoring and tax filing workflows.

Language Skills:

o Strong working knowledge of French is an advantage for local vendor bank and regulatory communication.

o Strong command of English for executive reporting and internal collaboration.
