Job Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining the organizations Safety Health Risk Environmental and Quality (SHREQ) Management System. The role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture ensuring regulatory compliance managing risks conducting audits and investigations and continuously improving workplace safety performance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop implement and continuously improve safety health risk environmental and quality management systems.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and employee safety awareness across the organization.
  • Identify hazards assess risks and implement appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
  • Conduct and coordinate internal and external safety audits inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor and report safety performance KPIs incidents and corrective actions to management.
  • Lead or participate in accident and incident investigations and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Develop and review safety policies procedures training programs and emergency response plans.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety legislation regulatory requirements and relevant standards.
  • Monitor operational activities to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Manage employee safety training medical standards drug and alcohol management and fatigue management programs.
  • Coordinate injury management and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Work closely with management and operational teams to identify safety improvements and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Main Requirements
Education & Certification
  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant safety certifications such as NEBOSH OSHA CSP CIH or equivalent are an advantage.
  • Additional safety-related training or investigation qualifications are preferred.
Professional Experience
  • 35 years of experience in safety management or a related role.
  • Experience in transport construction manufacturing oil & gas or other relevant industries.
  • Proven experience implementing safety programs policies and management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety legislation.
  • Experience in incident investigation reporting risk assessment and hazard identification.
  • Experience with ISO standards and safety auditing is preferred.
Technical & Soft Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and risk management.
  • Ability to conduct safety audits inspections and compliance assessments.
  • Strong emergency response and crisis management skills.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to train and educate employees on safety practices.
  • Strong commitment to promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Willingness to work extended hours weekends and travel when required.
