QA Engineer – Sports Betting, Remote

CloserHire is partnering with a fast-growing international technology company within the sports betting and iGaming industry to recruit a QA Engineer for their team in Sofia Bulgaria. This role will focus on ensuring the quality reliability and performance of high-traffic sports betting products. You will work closely with developers product teams and other QA professionals to test complex platforms identify issues before they reach production and continuously improve testing processes across web API and backend systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design execute and maintain manual and automated test cases
• Test web applications
• APIs backend services and integrations across the sports betting platform
• Perform functional regression integration smoke and end-to-end testing
• Identify document and track software defects through to resolution
• Validate new features against functional and technical requirements
• Perform API testing and verify data flows between different services and systems
• Test real-time functionality and platform behaviour during high-volume sporting events
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts
• Collaborate closely with Developers Product Managers Business Analysts and DevOps teams
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide
• QA input during the development lifecycle
• Analyse test results investigate failures and support root-cause analysis
• Contribute to improving
• QA processes test coverage and automation
• Support testing activities within CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure releases meet agreed quality performance and reliability standards
• Stay informed about new testing tools methodologies and technologies

Requirements:

• 3 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices
• Experience with both manual and automated testing
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright Cypress Selenium or similar
• Experience testing
• REST APIs using tools such as Postman or similar
• Good understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript Java Python or another programming/scripting language
• Experience with SQL and validating data within relational databases
• Familiarity with Git CI/CD pipelines
• Jira and modern development workflows
• Experience testing web-based applications and distributed systems
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to clearly document and communicate defects and technical issues
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams
• Good command of English Experience with performance and load testing tools is an advantage
• Previous experience within sports betting iGaming fintech or another high-transaction digital environment is highly advantageous
