Job Description

Position Summary:

The Ops Procurement team leader supervises staff in administration of the procurement process for assigned area. They are a great partner with internal customers major suppliers vendors and subcontractors ensuring price competitiveness and high levels of service are maintained. Ensure consistency and quality of work completed as well as optimal information flow.

Leadership / Management

  • Lead Operations Procurement team to deliver the results needed in the timeframe agreed
  • Supervise and train assigned staff effectively ensuring compliance with company standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible to facilitate process changes in order to increase efficiencies and data accuracy.
  • Work closely with the team to understand roadblocks and improvement opportunities
  • Coach and influence the direct reports through their own change process when needed
  • Identify and manage resistance to change within the team

Key Responsibilities:

  • The key responsibility is to lead purchasing staff effectively ensuring compliance with corporate and purchasing policies to receive and allocate accordingly customers requests including purchase requisitions inquiries purchase order change orders or order tracking and to identify the priority of the request to determine scheduling into current workload
  • Collaborate with internal customers suppliers and other functions to ensure accurate and timely purchasing process; prioritize and structure workload.
  • Work with customers to ensure that the correct information is provided for every request so it can be processed efficiently.
  • Identify investigate and resolve discrepancies between purchasing receiving and accounts payable systems.
  • Maintain accurate and current electronic system of record relative to purchase orders approvals and any auditable activity.
  • Ensure that departmental goals for turn-around times and delivery performances are met.
  • Drive internal process improvement through active use of the PPI Business Systems.
  • Ensure processes and work instructions that are critical to daily responsibilities are up-to-date while continuously ensuring process adherence by other departments
  • Undertake tasks and projects as assigned by manager.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Knowledge

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Experience

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 5 years).
  • 1 year of leadership responsibility
