As part of this mission we are seeking aBack-End/ Full Stack Developerto help build services on top of our Internal Developer Platform Hyperspacethe default entry point for 50000 SAP developers.
As asoftwaredeveloper you will be part of the empowered product team Developer Insights consisting of a Product Owner Scrum Master UX designer architect and several team aims to enable SAPs product development teams to make data-driven decisions in orderimprovetheir software delivery delivering insights fordeveloperswe create strongpurposeand highcommitmentin our team. We are looking for someone who shares our mission to make the developer experience exceptional and Hyperspace the best internal platform for developers.
Responsibilities
Design and implementmetrics such asDORA and flow metrics as well as other developer insights within the Hyperspace Portal
Participate in all phases of the development lifecyclefrom ideation and development to operations and support (with a focus on development)
Support the team in defining concepts conducting technical evaluations and providing effort estimations
Work with event-driven architectures and message queues
Deploy andoperateservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes (K8s)
Integrate with tools such as GitHub and Jira to enable seamless developer workflows
Improve service reliability performance and observability
Mentor and support fellow developers while promoting engineering best practices
Apply context engineering principles to ensure AI-assisted workflows are relevantaccurate and efficient
Evaluate and enhance the quality of AI-generated outputs in automated compliance checks and developer workflows
Explore and implement agentic AI approaches to improve daily engineering tasks automation and decision-making
Participate in hackathons toshowcasethe value ofnew ideas.
Engage in SAP developer communities.
What you bring
Degree in Computer Scienceorsolid experiencein software development
Strong Go programming skillsandsoftware engineering practices
Experience with Kubernetes Docker and cloud-native/container technologies
Strong understanding of relational database concepts and hands-on experience with database architecture and design
Good understanding of event-driven architecture
Experience with Angular/TypeScript is a plus
Agile/Scrum background and a quality-first mindset
Strong English communication skills both written and verbal
Collaborative proactive problem-solver with strong analytical thinking
AI mindset: practical use of AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot Claude) to improve productivity code quality and continuous learning
Strong interest in AI-driven development practices and adoption
Understanding of prompt design context management and AI-assisted engineering workflows
Ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs
Itsfine if your experience is primarily in back-end development but you should be interested in learning and working across the full stack.
