Our current client is a Global Transport and Logistics company with headquarters in Denmark. On their behalf we are looking for talented and motivated person for the role of Head of Customs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strategically manage the customs declaration function across all entities of our client in Bulgaria;
• Ensure compliance with customs legislation and internal Group-level standards;
• Coordinate and provide methodological guidance on customs activities across different business units;
• Collaborate with customs authorities internal teams and external partners;
• Develop and optimize customs procedures including the implementation of Group-level tools and processes;
• Lead and manage a team of highly experienced customs professionals.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• University degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Engineering Economics Business Administration or a related field;
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in customs operations including experience in a managerial or people-management role;
• Excellent knowledge and extensive practical experience with relevant local customs legislation and practices;
• Experience with customs procedures transportation providers and regulatory authorities;
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Word and Excel;
• In-depth understanding and experience in managing all aspects of customs operations including structured planning organizational management and performance management.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Extensive experience in developing leading and motivating cross-functional teams to achieve high performance levels;
• Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies for managing customs operations; experience in integrating organizations with international structures would be considered an advantage;
• Ability to effectively engage with key internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to customs strategy;
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with a practical results-oriented approach;
• Highly motivated and organized with exceptional attention to detail and deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic working environment;
• Excellent transparent and direct communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across different organizational levels;
• Strong people management skills;
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
