Job Summary

This post is based in Brussels Belgium on site. Relocation support is available.

A multinational defence organisation is modernising its nuclear consultation command and control capability the biggest programme in its common-funded portfolio with delivery spread across host nations and several implementing entities. This post sits on site in Brussels and keeps that orchestration moving with a strong security thread running through all of it.

What you would be doing

  • Working with headquarters staff agencies stakeholders and end users to develop security plans and monitor their implementation across the project groups.
  • Making sure those plans are understood and complied with by everyone who has to live with them.
  • Travelling frequently to host nation sites to coordinate communications and infrastructure progress run site surveys and give technical advice in excess of eighty travel days a year.
  • Supporting the programme director on site with stakeholder engagement and communication at political operational and tactical levels.
  • Helping identify requirements policy developments and engineering publication reviews relevant to the programme.
  • Working with the security policy and operations branches across the organisation so the programme stays aligned with alliance practice.
  • Reviewing and updating security policy documentation and classification guides and authoring the relevant sections of capability programme plans.
  • Supporting the management of classified material.
  • Developing and delivering presentations and training on security procedures.
  • Keeping every work strand linked to the rest of the office and to the other capability teams.

What you would bring

  • A bachelor degree or higher.
  • Programme or project management experience ideally under a common-funded capability delivery governance model or its national equivalent.
  • Experience of technical communications or physical infrastructure projects for sensitive compartmented information facilities delivered in secure environments.
  • At least three of the last ten years in stakeholder management and coordination aligning different organisations behind a common strategic goal.
  • Willingness to travel well beyond the usual this post is on the road a great deal.
  • Fluent professional English.

This is a long engagement that renews year on year not a short project.
