The Position

At Roche we believe care should start before disease takes hold. As the Head of Communications for Roche BeLux you will serve as a strategic driver of our mission championing a OneRoche approach by shaping our external image to ensure our groundbreaking science is understood valued and accessible to patients. Leading both internal and external communication strategies within the External Affairs department you will proactively manage our corporate reputation media relations and crisis responses across Belgium and Luxembourg. By aligning our narratives you will empower employees to act as authentic brand ambassadors who project our core values to the world.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and execute a cohesive internal and external communication strategy that proactively safeguards Roches social license to operate.

  • Engage proactively with health care and lay press media acting as Roches primary media spokesperson.

  • Cultivate deep insights into the healthcare ecosystem to optimize business communication strategies prioritize key corporate initiatives and deliver consultative persuasion across complex healthcare networks.

  • Modernize communications by leading digital channel strategy analyzing data analytics and engagement metrics and proactively integrating generative AI tools into daily workflows and long-term strategic positioning.

  • Navigate a changing external environment and complex matrix structure with continuous resilience fostering a OneRoche mindset to align communication efforts across divisions while proactively solving problems managing issues and influencing without authority across industry task forces.

  • Partner closely with senior management on driving interactive dialogue through inspiring employee communications and town halls and engage directly with the global Roche communications community.


Who You Are


You are a resilient forward-thinking and strategically-minded communication professional who thrives when translating complex scientific and business data into compelling storytelling. You bring an entrepreneurial growth-oriented mindset in line with the business priorities and alongside a passion for navigating healthcare transformations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences Journalism Linguistics Social Sciences or a related field.

  • 8 years of corporate communications public affairs or journalism experience within a strongly regulated industry (ideally life sciences or healthcare) with a proven track record in high-stakes crisis and reputation management.

  • Trilingual proficiency with native or near-native command of Dutch French and English to effectively engage stakeholders across Belgium and Luxembourg.

  • Deep knowledge of the BeLux healthcare environment and media landscape coupled with proficiency in media monitoring and the ability to drive unified OneRoche narrative strategies across diverse business functions.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in integrating AI solutions into corporate communication practices and strategy design.
