Job Summary
Your main function will be to implement a service catalog that securely provides access to a set of authentic legacy police data sources. The goal of this service catalog is to facilitate the integration of these data sources into various solutions such as
- A dashboard allowing users to view indicators that help determine if a company is potentially engaging in fraudulent activities.
- An internal solution enabling the determination of indicators relating to staff workload in order to produce status reports and forecasts notably to determine priorities from a human resources capacity perspective.
- A CMS (Case Management System) platform solution in the form of a web-based solution to address a critical operational need from the perspective of international police cooperation
- Subsequently your role may evolve into a position within the project team responsible for the CMS (Case Management System) solution.
- This new solution is based on the latest web application technologies with a technological foundation built on a microservices micro-frontend containerized highly available and scalable architecture.
- The entire system will be developed using agile methodologies and more specifically Scrum.
Main missions:
- As part of your mission to implement the service catalogue your tasks will be as follows:
- You will first need to familiarize yourself with the existing situation in order to propose technical solutions to meet the need.
- Subsequently you will implement the solution that will enable the integration and encapsulation of data sources in a modern service-oriented solution.
- Subsequently should your role evolve into a position within the CMS team you will be required to:
- Participate in the implementation of MicroServices the establishment of internal communication (between MicroServices) as well as with external systems.
- Contribute to the implementation of user interfaces using a MicroFrontend approach and ensure communication with MicroServices
- Implement unit tests and integration tests both on the Backend and Frontend sides.
- Integrate the designs provided by the UX/UI Designer into the user interfaces
- Version your source code generate pull requests and review your colleagues code before integrating it into the main branch.
- Model the database using a code-first approach and perform the necessary migrations.
- Set up deployment pipelines for applications and services.
- Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Deployment Pipelines
- Work in an agile manner focusing on planned tasks and respecting deadlines.
Desired Profile:
- You hold a bachelors degree in computer science (minimum) and have several years of experience in a similar role.
- You have solid knowledge (C#) applied to the implementation of microservices. You are also able to install and configure a database (PostgreSQL) as well as manage its connections via Entity Framework adopting a code first approach.
- You are able to design and implement REST or gRPC APIs and deploy an event-driven architecture using message brokers such as RabbitMQ.
- You know how to develop a SPA type web application using a Micro-Frontend architecture using Angular and Module Federation.
- You are proficient in authentication mechanisms via OpenID Connect and O365 for both backend services and frontend applications.
- You have proven experience in CI/CD and in setting up deployment pipelines with GitLab or Argo CD. You are proficient in Git and familiar with the concepts of branches pull requests and code reviews.
- You are accustomed to working in an agile environment using the Scrum methodology and are able to adapt quickly to a change in technical direction during a project or even to a technology you are not yet familiar with. You are persistent solution-oriented and you integrate easily into a team with diverse profiles and experiences.
- You are proficient in English as well as one of the two national languages. Active knowledge of one national language and passive knowledge (at least) of the other is a real asset.
- Knowledge of the police environment and more specifically of the Federal Judicial Police is an important asset.
- Knowledge of security and cryptography is also an added value.
