Controllership Accountant
Job Summary
We are looking for a Controllership Accountant to join our Finance team supporting the Netherlands and Belgium entities within our Europe & India business.
This role is a key position within the accounting and finance organisation and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic multinational environment alongside internal and external stakeholders across the region. The successful candidate will support statutory reporting technical accounting audit activities month-end close processes and financial compliance activities for multiple legal entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the financial administration of multiple entities across the Netherlands and Belgium.
- Prepare review and analyse financial reporting including balance sheets profit & loss statements and cash flow reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities including journal postings and general ledger accounting.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with local GAAP and legal regulations.
- Support external audit activities by preparing audit documentation balance sheet reconciliations statutory notes and responding to auditor queries.
- Prepare VAT returns statutory filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Analyse budget variances forecasts and financial performance to support business decision-making.
- Reconcile subledgers and support accounting system accuracy and financial controls.
- Work closely with offshore Global Business Services teams to support efficient and high-quality accounting processes.
- Build strong working relationships with finance colleagues business leaders advisors and external stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation across accounting and reporting activities.
- Participate in special projects and support implementation of accounting policies and financial compliance initiatives.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance Accounting Business Economics or related field
- 15 years of experience within Accounting & Reporting or a similar finance role
- Experience supporting a full fiscal year cycle within a comparable environment is required
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
- Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting activities
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive and accountable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Oracle is considered an advantage
- Fluent in Dutch and English
