Senior MechanicWorkshop Supervisor

Overview: Our client is a reputable organization offering specialized operational support services. Due to continued growth they are seeking a Senior Mechanic/Workshop Supervisor in Barbados. This is a hands-on supervisory role for an experienced mechanic responsible for equipment repairs maintenance and daily workshop operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose repair and maintain heavy-duty equipment and machinery.
  
• Supervise daily workshop operations and coordinate repair schedules.
  
• Lead and support mechanics and workshop staff.
  
• Plan and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
  
• Troubleshoot hydraulic electrical and mechanical systems.
  
• Ensure repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.
  
• Manage workshop tools spare parts and maintenance records.
  
• Work with operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
  

• 35 years experience repairing and maintaining heavy-duty equipment.
  
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines hydraulics electrical systems and equipment diagnostics.
  
• Ability to read technical manuals and solve complex mechanical issues.
  
• Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.
  
• Valid drivers licence required.
  
• Strong leadership organizational and problem-solving skills with a commitment to safety.
