Job Summary
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. LPNs work in various healthcare settings including hospitals nursing homes and clinics to deliver patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide basic nursing care such as:
- Taking vital signs (temperature pulse blood pressure etc.)
- Administering medications and injections
- Changing wound dressings
- Assisting with personal care (bathing grooming etc.)
- Monitoring Patients: Observe patients conditions and report any changes to RNs or physicians
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information and care provided
- Collaboration: Work with healthcare teams to deliver patient-centered care
Requirements
- Licensure: Current LPN licensure in the state of practice
- Education: Completion of a practical nursing program
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift bend and stand for long periods
