About the Role:
At Takeda putting patients first drives everything we do. As Director RDGM DD&T Business Partner PDT R&D you will play a pivotal leadership role in accelerating the digital transformation of Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) Research & Development.
As the strategic technology partner to PDT R&D leadership you will shape and execute the digital strategy ensuring technology investments align with business priorities and deliver measurable value. You will drive innovation strengthen collaboration across R&D and Manufacturing and enable data-driven decision-making through modern digital capabilities AI and emerging technologies.
This role serves as the primary technology advisor for PDT R&D championing strategic partnerships governance and enterprise-wide digital initiatives while upholding Takedas values of Patient Trust Reputation and Business.
How you will contribute:
- Develop and execute the multi-year digital and technology roadmap for PDT R&D aligned with business strategy and enterprise priorities.
- Partner with senior business leaders to identify opportunities for digital innovation and technology-enabled transformation.
- Drive the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies including AI next-generation laboratory platforms and scientific data solutions.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across DD&T R&D Manufacturing and external partners to deliver scalable digital solutions.
- Provide governance and executive oversight for technology initiatives ensuring delivery on time within budget and with measurable business impact.
- Manage the PDT R&D technology portfolio investment planning budgets and resource prioritization.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with software vendors and external technology partners.
- Represent PDT R&D in enterprise technology governance strategic planning and investment discussions.
- Foster a culture of innovation transparency collaboration and continuous improvement.
What you bring to Takeda:
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree or higher in Life Sciences Computer Science Engineering Information Technology or a related discipline.
- 10 years of experience leading technology organizations supporting pharmaceutical biotech research or plasma-derived therapy environments.
- 8 years of people leadership experience with a proven ability to lead global matrixed teams and influence senior executives.
- Demonstrated success delivering enterprise-scale digital transformation programs and complex technology portfolios.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical or biotech R&D processes and scientific research environments.
- Experience developing technology strategies managing digital investments and driving organizational change.
- Proven ability to manage strategic vendors technology partnerships and cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication influencing and executive stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent English skills; German language skills are desirable.
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of modern R&D technologies laboratory informatics scientific data platforms and emerging digital trends.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and complex project management.
- Understanding of AI and advanced digital capabilities supporting drug discovery and development.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
