Role overview
We are seeking a Robotics Systems & Embedded Engineer to join our office in Vienna. This role is the vital link between our complex software ecosystem and the physical world. You will work at the intersection of firmware development sensor fusion and robotic control ensuring that our hardware executes high-level logic with real-time precision. You arent just writing code; you are building the foundation that allows our robots to perceive navigate and manipulate objects in dynamic human environments. What You Will Do
More specifically you will:
Design and implement real-time software for robotic components focusing on sensor integration and robotic arm control.
Maintain and improve C interfaces that expose hardware capabilities to the navigation perception and manipulation stacks with focus on performance and reliability.
Integrate and calibrate various sensors ensuring reliable data flow from hardware to ROS-based systems.
Work directly with physical robot hardware in our Vienna office to perform testing debugging and performance optimization.
Collaborate with the international team to troubleshoot hardware-software interface failures and implement robust error recovery mechanisms.
Write clean maintainable and well-documented code for production-grade robotics.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a curious hands-on engineer who is tired of "perfect" simulations that break in the real world. You are someone who enjoys the "close-to-the-metal" experiencedebugging signal noise optimizing real-time performance and seeing your code come to life in a physical machine. While experience in robotics is a fantastic asset it is not a mandatory requirement. We value deep expertise in embedded systems real-time Linux and robust C development over specific prior robotics experience. | Hands-on experience with hardware communication protocols.

Technical skills & background
Embedded Systems: Strong understanding of real-time constraints and ability to understand and debug existing MCU firmware troubleshooting hardware-level communication issues.
Software Engineering: Comfortable with Git modern CI/CD workflows and production-level code standards.
Preferred qualifications
Hardware Integration: Proven track record of integrating complex hardware like multi-DOF robotic arms or high-resolution camera systems.
Mathematics: Solid foundation in geometry linear algebra and kinematics as applied to robotic manipulation and sensing.
Robotics: Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 or equivalent.
