Job Summary

Job title: Industry Liaison Manager (f/m/d)


Job location: The Central Executive Management Office of BBMRI-ERIC in Graz Austria (or exceptionally remote work)


Job purpose: The Industry Liaison Manager is responsible for positioning BBMRI-ERIC one of the largest European Research Infrastructures in Health and Life Science as a preferred and trusted partner for industry. The role focuses on building longterm strategic industry collaborations and showcasing the RIs multidisciplinary expertise and service provision scientific excellence knowledge exchange and strong partnerships in health and life sciences. A key objective is to create clear and accessible pathways for industry to engage with BBMRI-ERICs expertise and infrastructure including its cross-domain network that facilitates responsible access to high quality samples data and biomolecular resources.


Contract: As work-life balance is a high priority at BBMRI-ERIC less than a full-time contract (40 hours/week) can be agreed.

BBMRI-ERIC is the European Research Infrastructure for biobanking and biomolecular resources established in 2013 under EU legislation. BBMRI-ERIC enables the development of innovative technology and processes as a cross-domain network that facilitates responsible access to high quality samples data and biomolecular resources. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with industry partners in line with BBMRI-ERICs 10-Year Roadmap 2025-2035 (e.g. one health datafication collaboration frameworks sustainability stakeholder engagement global outreach) which is currently implemented through BBMRI-ERICs Work Programme 2025-2027. Strategic partnership development and maintanance by identifying and approaching potential industry partners;
  • Develop compelling value propositions which highlight BBMRI-ERICs scientific strengths infrastructure network societal impact and innovation potential;
  • Showcasing BBMRI-ERIC to industry by translating complex research topics into industryrelevant opportunities value and actionable collaborations (eg joint R&D technology transfer pilot projects);
  • Manage administrative and contractual aspects in cooperation with Finance and Project Management;
  • Strengthen industry engagement by developing attractive collaboration programs;
  • Monitor industry trends technological developments and funding opportunities relevant to the RIs research areas;
  • Support technology transfer activities including licensing IP discussions and commercialization pathways.


In this role your required qualifications and skills are:

  • Masters/PhD degree or higher in/related to the field of Biomedicine / Life Sciences;
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in industry collaboration scientific research management technology transfer or innovation ecosystems and international projects;
  • Strong understanding of industry R&D needs;
  • Ability to translate scientific content into industryrelevant value;
  • Strong coordination and organisation skills as well as the ability to deliver on deadlines;
  • A network into biotech/pharma industries is an advantage;
  • Team-oriented mindset with the capability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure;
  • Excellent communication negotiation and stakeholdermanagement skills;
  • Ability to deal with challenges in a diplomatic manner;
  • Presentation and moderation skills at EU and/or global level;
  • Readiness for moderate travel;
  • Familiarity with the European Research Infrastructure ecosystem is an advantage.


Employment terms and conditions

As we aim to provide a diverse work environment the work can be performed at the headquarters in Graz with occasional home office options or exceptionally remotely.

The employment follows the Austrian employment law.


What we offer

An attractive remuneration package starting from EUR 80000.00 gross per year plus potential performance-related components is available for this position. The final compensation package will be individually tailored to reflect the successful candidates experience expertise and the strategic importance of the position.
