As EPR & Materials Compliance Manager (f/m/d) you ensure compliance with EPR regulations across the EU and take a leading role in shaping material compliance at Leica Microsystems. With your expertise and initiative you help drive sustainable product stewardship and regulatory excellence in a dynamic international environment.

You take ownership of timely and accurate reporting drive cross-functional initiatives and build strong partnerships with external service providers. With your structured mindset and proactive approach you transform regulatory requirements into efficient future-ready processes helping Leica Microsystems meet its legal obligations while actively contributing to our sustainability ambitions.

This position reports to the Manager Product Compliance and is an integral part of the Product Compliance team at Leica Microsystems contributing to the implementation of global regulatory standards and sustainable compliance practices.

This is an on-site position based in Vienna.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Ensure EPR compliance (WEEE VerpackG BattG) for Leica Microsystems including registration and reporting in relevant markets.

  • Be responsible for action plans and coordination of cross-functional activities (e.g. workshops Kaizens daily management).

  • Guide departments in implementing sustainable material solutions in line with material compliance (MC) requirements and the companys environmental objectives.

  • Support data owners in implementing new reporting requirements.

  • Monitor progress toward compliance objectives and reporting on factors that pose risks and create gaps.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • First Degree in Environmental Science Chemistry Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.

  • Knowledge of EPR / Material regulations; proven experience with European and international compliance requirements and their practical implementation (e.g. EPR MC).

  • Data Management & Analysis with experience in handling compliance-related data for structured data tracking and reporting (e.g. SAP Excel etc.).

  • Analytical thinking and structured working style with the ability to analyze complex regulatory requirements translate them into processes and implement them strategically.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills for effective collaboration with internal departments as well as external service providers and authorities.

  • Business fluent English and German communication skills (communication with stakeholders across functions and international teams to ensure clear effective collaboration).

Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 20%. mainly within the region.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with external service providers or producer responsibility organizations.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the life sciences or medical device industry.

The collective agreement for employees in the metalworking industry applies to the advertised position the minimum basic salary is 6800 gross per month with willingness to overpay the collective agreement. This job is also eligible for annual bonus pay.
