Job Summary
Associate International Arbitration (f/m/x)
We are looking for a committed and highly motivated associate (f/m/x) with a special and demonstrated interest in international arbitration to join our team in Vienna.
Your Tasks
Your role will involve advising and representing international clients in commercial and investment arbitration proceedings across a broad range of industries. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting in-depth factual research (through document review witness interviews etc.);
- Conducting legal research on points of national and international law;
- Drafting memoranda and analyses of disputed issues for internal and client consideration;
- Drafting legal briefs for submission to arbitral tribunals;
- Supporting and appearing at oral hearings and client meetings in Austria and abroad; and
- Engaging in proactive business development and market profiling activities
Your Profile
- Completion of legal studies with outstanding academic results
- Fluency in English and German with the ability to communicate read and draft legal documents effectively in both languages
- Ability to work effectively in an international and diverse environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong appreciation for legal creativity and innovative problem-solving skills
Additional assets (preferred but not required):
- Previous work or internship experience in a law firm
- Academic or professional experience both in and outside of Austria particularly including study or work experience in English
- Completion of the Austrian court internship (Gerichtspraxis) for Austrian candidates; or qualification as lawyer in home jurisdiction for international candidates
- Exposure to arbitration through coursework Vis Moot Jessup or similar competitions
