About the Role

We are seeking a Sotfware Engineer to join our Data team focussing on hosted and 3rd party/ API data sources. This team is responsible for designing building and maintaining the data pipelines and services that power Data Zoos core identity verification platform.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will work hands-on across the full software development lifecycle with a strong focus on data engineering pipeline development and integration of global data sources. You will play a key role in ensuring data is processed delivered and maintained with accuracy scalability and reliability in mind.

Youll collaborate closely with Product Managers Engineers and stakeholders across the business to deliver high-quality data solutions that directly impact customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Platform Development

Design build and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations

Work with structured and unstructured data sources to process and transform data efficiently

Support the integration of new global data sources into the platform

Contribute to the design of data models storage solutions and processing workflows

Apply data quality validation and monitoring practices to ensure data integrity

Software Engineering

Develop test and maintain backend services using Go (GoLang)

Write clean maintainable and well-documented code aligned with engineering best practices

Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of the codebase

Contribute to architectural design discussions and scalable system solutions

Build and maintain automated testing (unit integration end-to-end)

Production & Operations

Support production systems including monitoring alerting and troubleshooting

Investigate and resolve defects and production issues

Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews

Contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines and operational tooling

Collaboration & Delivery

Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups sprint planning retrospectives)

Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to deliver against the roadmap

Communicate progress risks and blockers proactively

Continuous Improvement

Identify and drive improvements across code processes and tooling

Stay up to date with developments in Go and data engineering practices

Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the team

Qualifications skills and experience required

Proven experience as a Software or Data Engineer with strong Go (GoLang) experience

Experience building and operating backend services or APIs in production environments

Hands-on experience with data engineering (data pipelines ETL/ELT integrations)

Strong understanding of data structures API design and distributed systems

Experience working with relational and/or SQL databases and data technologies

Familiarity with cloud platforms containerisation and CI/CD pipelines (preferred)

Experience in Agile environments within collaborative engineering teams

Exposure to SaaS data-focused or technology-driven organisations is advantageous

Relevant tertiary qualification (Computer Science Engineering IT or similar) preferred
