At Leidos Airborne Solutions Australia we do more than fly we safeguard borders and save lives. As a trusted partner to the Australian Government we lead critical airborne special missions from border surveillance to life-saving search-and-rescue operations covering over 10% of the Earths addition to our aviation bases across Australia and the Indian Ocean Territories we operate a 24/7 Operations Centre Systems Integration Lab and Mission Equipment Service Centre to ensure mission success. We collaborate with local SMEs to prototype and test advanced mission management systems integrating cutting-edge ISR technology.

As part of a specialised airborne crew you will support mission success by managing onboard systems maintaining situational awareness and ensuring clear communication across all personnel.

Your New Role and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage airborne mission systems during surveillance operations

  • Maintain strong situational awareness to support safe and effective mission execution

  • Interpret and communicate real-time mission information across the crew

  • Ensure compliance with aviation safety standards and operational procedures

  • Work closely with pilots and mission crew to achieve mission objectives

  • Apply structured decision-making in time-critical environments

What Youll Bring to Make an Impact

  • Experience in airborne surveillance aviation operations or similar environments

  • Background in Defence emergency services law enforcement or maritime operations

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

  • Interest in surveillance technology and complex systems

  • Ability to meet CASA medical and fitness requirements

  • Availability to complete a 16-week training program

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and bewilling to obtain and hold a baseline AGSVA security clearance as well as a Employment Suitability Screening check.
