About the role

The Data Governance Analyst supports the effective operation ofHammondCaresdata governance framework ensuring that data is trusted welldefined protected and usable across the organisation.

The role focuses on practical governance helping data owners system teams and business users do the right thing with data without creatingunnecessary friction or overhead.

This role is critical to enabling safe analytics reporting AI and operational decisionmaking in a missionled notforprofit environment.

This role takes a practicalhandsonapproach to improving data qualityand management with a strong focus onbuildingconsistency accuracy and accountability. It works in a supportive and collaborative way with teams positioning itself as an enabler rather than a policing function. By fostering trust and capability the role helps drive better use of data to informdecisionmakingultimately supportingimproved care outcomes and more effective operational performance.

This isafixed term contract for 22 monthsatSt Leonardswith hybrid opportunities.

Key Responsibilities include

Data Governance Operations

  • Support the daytoday operation of the data governance framework

  • Helpmaintainclear definitions forcritical data elements; data domains and ownership; data standards and classifications

  • Assistin keeping governance artefacts currentusableand accessible

Data Quality & Trust

  • Support data quality activities includingidentifyingcommon data issues; helping define quality rules and expectations;andsupportingtechnicaland business teamswith remediation

  • Help improve confidence in data used for reportinganalyticsand AI

Metadata Definitions & Cataloguing

  • Assistinmaintainingbusiness data definitionsmetadataand data catalogue content (where tools exist)

  • Help ensure data is understood consistently across teams

Privacy Security & Responsible Use

  • Support the application of data classificationprivacyand access principles

  • Work with the Data GovernanceLeadto ensure data is used responsibly and appropriately particularly for sensitive care and client information

  • Help teams understand governance expectations in plain language

Stakeholder Support & Enablement

  • Work with data ownersanalystsand business users toclarify data responsibilities answer governancerelated questionsand resolve data issues pragmatically

  • Act as a first point of support for data governance queries

Continuous Improvement

  • Identifyopportunities to simplify and improve data governance practices

  • Help mature governance in step with organisational capability not ahead of it

About You

  • Commitment to engage and align withHammondCaresChristian Mission Motivation and Mission in Action

  • At least3-5demonstratedexperience in data governance data qualityanalyticsor data management

  • Understanding of end-to-end data flows and lifecycle including how data moves across systems and is used for reportinganalyticsand operational processes

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

  • Ability to work with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders

  • Clear communication skills able to explain data concepts simply

  • Pragmatic serviceoriented mindset

Desirable:

  • Experience in healthcare agedcareor notforprofit environments

  • Exposure to data privacy information securityAIgovernanceor regulatory requirements

  • Familiarity with data catalogues BItoolsor analytics platforms
