About PESCM:PESCM located in San Rafael is the only 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County with specialties in Internal Medicine Oncology Ophthalmology Surgery Neurology Cardiology Urgent Care Emergency Radiology and Critical Care. About the Job

  • Overseeing appointments and managing clients throughout their visit
  • Participating with the Surgeons in-patient assessment diagnostics treatments and procedures
  • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood urine free fluid and fine needle aspirates
  • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient and procedural assessment such as radiography and CT
  • Executing inducing monitoring and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
  • Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents fluids and CRIs
  • Review and understanding of all medical records pertinent to patient care
  • Providing empathy comfort and unparalleled nursing care to all patients being a strong patient advocate during the patients hospitalization
  • Maintaining all equipment on a per-use basis ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients
  • Providing extensive client communication and education upon patient admit and at discharge regarding post-operative care medications
  • Ability to work occasional holidays and OT as needed

About you

  • Advanced knowledge along with preparation and administration of injectable and inhaled anesthetic agents
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary specialty setting required
  • RVT or VTS preferred but not required with right candidates
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues clients and community is required.
  • Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
  • Honesty integrity and a desire to learn and have fun!

Salary

  • $34.00 - $38.00 / hour dependent on experience
  • $200 for being on call plus an additional $200 if called in. Eligible for overnight and differentials
  • $3.00/hr overnight and $2.00/hr weekend different (stacked)

Schedule: Tuesday through Friday 10:00am - 8:30pm

Bonus: $3000 for licensed technicians
