PESCM located in San Rafael is the only 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County with specialties in Internal Medicine Oncology Ophthalmology Surgery Neurology Cardiology Urgent Care Emergency Radiology and Critical Care. Veterinary Technicians at PESCM are responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary addition to veterinary technician skills such as patient restraint administering medications IV catheter placement and phlebotomy technicians in the Neurology Department will be responsible for the following:
- RVT preferred; 2 years of experience minimum required
- Assisting with care of hospitalized patients in our state-of-the-art ICU
- Assisting in specialized diagnostic procedures such as MRI and CT scans
- Assisting in specialized surgical procedures such as hemilaminectomy
- Documenting patient history and updates in medical records
- Providing quality compassionate care for your patients
- Assisting in anesthetic and sedated procedures such as CSF taps
- Maintaining accurate treatment sheets and providing compassionate care for hospitalized patients
- Taking radiographs and obtaining and preparing blood samples for diagnostic testing
- Providing client education on a wide range of at-home care topics
RVT preferred but 2 years experience minimum necessary. Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring required. Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens. Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Understanding of normal vs. abnormal physiologic ranges. Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues clients and the community. Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected. Honesty integrity and a desire to learn and have fun!
- Salary: $34.00$38.00 per hour dependent on experience
- Sign-On Bonus: Registered Veterinary Technicians are eligible for $3000
- Tuesday through Friday 8:00 AM 6:30 PM
