PESCM located in San Rafael is the only 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County offering specialty services in Internal Medicine Surgery Neurology Cardiology Urgent Care Emergency Radiology and Critical Care.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Veterinary Laboratory Technician to support our clinical team through accurate laboratory testing specimen processing and quality control. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced veterinary environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Process laboratory samples and accurately enter results into the hospital information system.
  • Prepare and submit specimens to outside reference and specialty laboratories.
  • Perform routine quality control testing and maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory records including temperature shipping and quality control logs.
  • Receive organize and restock laboratory supplies.
  • Communicate laboratory results and updates to veterinarians and support staff.
  • Maintain a clean organized and efficient laboratory environment.
  • Support timely diagnostics and high-quality patient care through accurate laboratory procedures.
Qualifications
  • Previous veterinary medical or laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Experience with veterinary laboratory equipment and diagnostic testing is a plus.
Schedule

Choose from one of the following full-time schedules:

  • Monday through Thursday 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
  • Friday through Monday 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM
Compensation
  • $24.00 to $25.00 per hour based on experience
  • $3.00 per hour weekend differential
