Job Description

• The Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Technical specialist must possess the necessary knowledge to perform interventions on the various I&C equipment of a thermal power plant. Power generation and support equipment includes gas turbines steam turbines diesel engines generators triple-pressure heat recovery steam generators air compressors motors pumps piping (air water steam) and valves.

• Execute I&C-related maintenance activities according to the work plan provided by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

• Responsible for contributing to the reduction of maintenance costs through the efficient use of consumables parts and tools and for preventing their loss or damage.

• Diagnose the cause of instrument failures or malfunctions. Must be able to communicate findings to all stakeholders.

• Diagnose test repair or replace defective instrumentation components.

• Test faulty equipment and apply knowledge of the operation of mechanical units and systems to diagnose the cause of failure.

• Calibrate and adjust equipment according to specifications.

• Maintain records of repairs calibrations and tests performed.

• Record maintenance actions on work orders.

• Repair actuators as needed for proper system operation and mechanical isolation.

• Identify the necessary spare parts for the various plant systems.

• Submit purchase requisitions in the MAXIMO system.

• Read and understand system technical manuals and piping and instrumentation diagrams.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to the procedures in the technical manual.

• Prepare legible and understandable work orders for required preventive and corrective maintenance.

• Read understand and comply with all plant safety procedures and regulations.

• Collaborate with external contractors on various investment projects. Maintain effective communication with employees at all levels of the organization.
