Payroll Analyst – CABA, Argentina

As a key member of Western Unions Payroll team based in Buenos Aires (CABA) Argentina this role plays a critical part in delivering accurate and timely payroll operations with a primary focus on Mexico payroll and secondary support for Peru payroll. The position is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing ensuring compliance with local regulations and driving process standardization and improvements across payroll activities. This role acts as a central point of coordination between internal stakeholders and external vendors supporting regional payroll efficiency and enhancing employee experience.

Role Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for Mexico in-house using payroll systems ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Support Peru payroll operations by collecting validating and consolidating payroll inputs for external vendor processing
• Ensure compliance with local labor laws tax regulations and statutory requirements across assigned countries
• Validate payroll data including earnings deductions taxes and benefits prior to processing
• Perform payroll reconciliations investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in line with audit and compliance standards
• Act as a key point of contact for employee payroll inquiries ensuring timely resolution
• Drive process improvements standardization and operational efficiency across payroll activities
• Collaborate with HR Accounting and external providers to ensure alignment data accuracy and timely delivery

Role Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration HR or related field or equivalent relevant experience
• 4 years of payroll experience with strong hands-on in-house Mexico payroll processing (mandatory)
• Solid knowledge of Mexico payroll regulations compliance controls and audit processes
• Experience supporting multi-country / LATAM payroll operations (Peru is a plus)
• Proven experience in end-to-end payroll operations including data validation reconciliations issue resolution reporting and ability to manage multiple deadlines with high accuracy and ownership
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors (HR Accounting Shared Services)
• Familiarity with OpenHR (preferred) Workday and HRIS/payroll systems including exposure to Intermex population
• Strong analytical problem-solving and process improvement mindset with excellent communication skills and advanced English proficiency (written and verbal)
• Flexibility to collaborate across LATAM time zones (up to 3-hour difference)
