Specialty Medical Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract opportunity with an acute care hospital in the San Luis Obispo CA area. This position offers a consistent night shift schedule and the opportunity to support an experienced inpatient pharmacy team in a fast-paced hospital environment.
We are seeking a pharmacy technician with extensive hospital experience strong sterile compounding skills and the ability to thrive in an inpatient setting.
Assignment Details
- Start: July 27 2026
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Schedule: Night Shift
- Hours: 4 x 10-hour shifts (5:30pm4:00am)
- Call: None
Requirements
- Active California Pharmacy Technician License in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of recent hospital pharmacy experience required
- Sterile compounding experience required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced inpatient environment
Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Assist with medication order processing and inventory management
- Support daily inpatient pharmacy workflow and medication distribution
- Maintain accurate medication records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with USP standards and hospital policies for sterile compounding
- Collaborate with pharmacists nurses and other healthcare professionals to support safe and effective patient care
