An architecture and planning organization is seeking to hire a Tax Accountant. In this seat you will be processing sales and use taxes handling property taxes and performing VAT refund reconciliations. The ideal candidate has 45 years of corporate tax accounting experience has used Vertex Tax software and has property tax exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare a range of tax returns such as 1040 corporate partnership estates and trusts.
- Demonstrate expertise in handling multistate tax returns.
- Employ strong tax research skills to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate efficiently with ProSystems Engagement and ProSystems Axcess for streamlined workflows.
- Take an active role in training and mentoring staff to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to meeting client service needs.
- Collaborate during tax season including some weekends to meet deadlines between January and April 15th.
Requirements
- Hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation with a minimum of 6 years of tax accounting experience in a public accounting firm.
- Possess a Masters in Taxation or demonstrate a willingness to obtain.
- Proficiency in ProSystems Engagement and ProSystems Axcess is advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Display a proactive attitude towards training and mentoring staff.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective client relations.
- Maintain a positive attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during tax season.
Qualifications: Must have an Accounting degree and at least 4 years experience MBA or CPA certification PREFERRED Strong computer skills Accuracy in daily work and other projects Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of Manager of Financial Reporting Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other employees Ability to function as a team player
