Overview:
As a Senior Counselor you play a vital role in providing guidance and support to individuals dealing with various personal and emotional challenges. Your role is crucial in fostering mental wellbeing and helping clients navigate through difficult situations. You will lead a team of counselors oversee case management and contribute to the development of counseling programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions
- Lead and mentor a team of counselors
- Oversee the assessment and treatment planning process
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals
- Develop and implement counseling programs
- Conduct crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Facilitate workshops and support groups
- Manage client records and ensure confidentiality
- Evaluate counseling outcomes and client progress
- Stay updated with best practices and ethical guidelines
- Contribute to staff training and development
- Engage in community outreach and awareness programs
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Provide supervision and guidance to junior counselors
- Conduct performance evaluations and goal setting
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
Minimum 3 6 years of experience in educational counseling or advising preferably in a higher
education or training institute.
Strong knowledge of educational systems academic programs and career pathways.
Excellent communication listening and interpersonal skills.
Empathetic and supportive approach to counseling students from diverse backgrounds.
Familiarity with assessment tools career inventories and counseling techniques.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
