Teamworx is recruiting for a well known Grocery store with a large fresh food offering. Our client is a renowned retail group with a vast number of awards and an excellent track record of promoting internally.

Due to further expansion and growth in the store, they are seeking a proven retail manager with a track record in fresh food management and managing in a retail shop.

My client is offering a substantial salary DOE and proven success, pension and bonus.

Responsibilities for this Retail General Manager Job:

• Ensure site runs efficiently and smoothly.
  
• Ensure store standards are consistently maintained and improved where possible, in terms of housekeeping, merchandising, presentation and service.
  
• Setting goals for the store to ensure effective customer service and competitiveness.
  
• Merchandising professionally, using planograms where necessary to maximise space and offerings.
  
• Work with internal stakeholder management, such as the head of HR, and resourcing team to attract and retain the best staff for your site, talent spotting, coaching, and developing your team
  
• Generating financial reports, analysing same and reporting any discrepancies to relevant department/MD .
  
• Ensure department margins are managed appropriately and the profitability of each department is maximised.
  
• Take full care of Health & Safety and food safety, make regular assessments and follow up on action plans
  

Requirements for this General Manager Job:

• Proven ability in managing a diverse retail offering with a large participation in catering food sales.
  
• Excellent organisation skills, the ability to lead and motivate a large team under them, experience managing chargehands, department managers, and shop managers would be an advantage
  
• Excellent operational knowledge of retail and the catering environment.
  
• Excellent people skills, demonstrating a leadership style, and problem-solving ability in a calm and strategic manner.
  
• Commercially astute, looking for opportunities to increase revenue, managing costs effectively.
  
• Working knowledge of Labour Law, Health & Safety regulations, HACCP, and Consumer Law.
